Lillian K. Kamimura, 90, of Waimea, died June 8 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a bible teacher, a member of the Kohala, Honokaa, Kamuela and Waikoloa congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses, office manager for Transcontinental, developer of Waikoloa village and Sheraton Hotel and former owner of Donna’s Cookies. Visitation 2-3 p.m. Saturday (June 15) at the Honokaa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 44-2662 Kalopa Rd. of Honokaa. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by daughters, Donna (Doug) Fry of Waimea and Cheri (Greg) Lee of Hilo; sons, Ricky (Kendra) Kamimura of Monroe, N.Y., and Chet (Denise) Kamimura of Waimea; brother, Harry (Leona) Yahata of San Rafael, Calif.; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shimomi “Violet” Araujo
Shimomi “Violet” Araujo, 98, of Hilo died June 3 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Waiakea Mill, Hilo, she was a retired seamstress for the former Shimomi’s Garment Factory and the former Kamehameha Garments, and member of Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Lanakila FCE, aka Hilo Association for Family and Community Education. Visitation 1-3 p.m. Sunday (June 16) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation and celebration of life also 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church, 162 Kapiolani St. Interment at a later date. Survived by daughter, Elizabeth (Roger) Toledo of Hilo; son, Clayton B.
